Glowing beautifully:
The intense heat of the Arabian sun can play havoc with your skin, we test drive four tinted moisturisers to see how they stack up.

Dual goodness

Now just as every moisturiser ideally hydrates your skin, Clinique Moisture Sheer Tint plays a dual role. Not only will your skin absorb its goodness, you will also rejoice in the beautiful tint it offers. This moisturiser’s tint is effective and non-oily, leaving your face refreshingly smooth with its matte finish. The colour of the tint, which looks like a faded rose, isn’t too strong and therefore retains the natural look, yet leaving an imprint of a subtle glow. Wear it beautifully alone or under makeup, the product is available in four shades for that sheer radiance.

Clinique Moisture Sheer Tint (Sheer Moisture) is available
at Debenhams, BD13.250.

A matte special
An odourless and creamy make up, it was a little on the heavy side compared to the other products, and needs to be rubbed into the skin in order for it to leave no trace. It contains SPF 15, which is a plus, and looks quite powdery; if you like the intense matte look then this product is for you. Not the most subtle of makeup but it does leave your skin feeling soft and smooth. Before you buy this, check that the option (I tested the one for normal/dry skin) is the right one for you.

Perfection everywhere
Sold in a Signature Classic Givenchy bottle, this foundation worked wonders on my complexion as it was created to adjust to the light around my face. The creamy liquid felt light and moisturizing. This is exactly what is needed, an oil-free formula that includes esters, polyols, and glycerin for moisture and hydration, and an SPF 20 for protection against the harsh Bahraini sun. When used indoors, the pigments allow the colour to remain matched to the shade used for a flawlessly smooth and natural look. Outdoors, the pigments adjust to the skin complexion’s colour so that it won't look too pale in a more intense light. You’ll get a radiant complexion any time and anywhere! It’s perfection.

Smoothness personified

When I first touched the foundation, it had a very mousse-like feel to it. It was light, and has a powdery matte finish. It spreads fast and disappears even faster on the skin leaving no trace of that one irregularly shaped dot of foundation that you first put on your face. What I also liked about it is how it slightly covered up some of the redness I have on my cheeks; not many foundations can do that. The cream will even out your skin without making you look like you have about four layers on it. All in all, this foundation does indeed make the cut!
