Writers' Guidelines

Woman This Month is a Bahrain-based publication celebrating the experience of womanhood and covering women's achievements, struggles, passions, joys and triumphs. Our features include Women in the News, Today's Woman, Social Commentary, Fiction, Letters from the Diaspora, Health, Interior Design, Famous Women in History, Art, Music, Parenting and Let's Get Technical.

The magazine is published 12 times a year and includes feature articles (700 to 1400 words), interviews (1400 to 2000 words), occasional short news items and humorous sidebars (300 to 600 words), book reviews of recent titles and fiction (usually 1400 to 3000 words).

Our editors welcome story pitches that suit our editorial mix. We ask freelancers to submit query letters in writing by emailing us at editor@womanthismonth.com.

Due to the volume of mail we receive, we regret that we cannot respond to every query.

All freelance pieces are submitted "on spec"; we don't pay kill fees. The pay rate for published articles is from $50 to $100 depending on length.

Complimentary copies of the magazine in which their articles appear are mailed to freelancers. Several feature articles are also available online.
